Weekly Weigh-in

I’m stalling. I somehow got up early, but don’t feel like getting ready for work. So here I sit, enjoying a quiet house and cup of coffee.

My girls start school in just 2 weeks. It’s hard to believe it’s so close. Last night we found out who their teachers are, so it’s really feeling like school is right around the corner. I don’t have much time to finish clothes shopping. I’ll have to find a way to get that done this coming weekend.

In a way it seems like my kids are growing up fast. Too fast. I know I will miss this some day, so I want time to slow down. But then I’m also excited to have 2 in school fulltime so our daycare bill drops. It will be a nice savings each month, and will bring us a bit closer to actually making it financially. We will be living paycheck to paycheck for a long time, but we’re getting closer to being able to pay our bills without having to use farm income. Yes, it’s nice to have the farm to fall back on as needed, but we also need to save it for the farm. There are so many unknowns with that, and we’re not sure if we’ll have enough to get crops in the ground next spring.

Well, enough of that. Money talk always stresses me out and I’m determined to have another good day! Yesterday was good. I ate really well and drank more water than I had been. I should have gone for a walk last night, but didn’t. Actually, I should be doing a Walk Away The Pounds video right now, but I’m not. At least my diet is getting back on track…that’s most important to me right now.

I was really surprised when I stepped on the scale this morning. Considering the way I’ve been eating, I’m amazed I only gained 1 pound this week. I’ll take it! I am still down 30, and that feels great. I also looked back and I’m down 4 pounds in the past month. I tend to lose VERY slow, so this is still a decent loss for me.

Enough stalling. Time to shower and get to work. It’s a busy time of year for me and fall will get insanely busy. I need to stay as caught up as I can before all you-know-what breaks loose!

Weekly Weigh-in

This will be a super quick post. Work is BUSY and I’m off the rest of the week because we have no daycare. Lots to do and not enough time!

I’ve been busy painting our living room at night after the kids are in bed. I’m hoping to finish a few details tonight, like spots Marcus thought needed a little extra plaster and sanding. It won’t take long, and I’m anxious to be done. Then I can share before and after pictures.

On to today’s weigh-in. I lost the 5 pounds I gained last week! I’m thrilled, especially because I didn’t eat the greatest.

I am worried about this week coming because we have the fair, plus a couple nights in a hotel away from home. But I will make the best choices I can, while also enjoying the time with my family and not freaking out if I eat something bad. I will make conscious decisions about what I put in my mouth. I’m also thinking about using the fitness center at the hotel if it works out with whatever else we decide to do. There will definitely be swimming, which I haven’t done in public since my honeymoon when I was much smaller…and even then I was self-conscious.

Back to work now so I don’t have to work too late!

Weekly Weigh-In

Ugh…is it morning already?? I was hoping for a great night’s sleep last night. I slept okay, but definitely not great. It’s going to be a long day!

As I was expecting, the scale was up today. It was up 5 pounds! Eek! I haven’t been drinking water like I should be, and probably consuming too much salt. So hopefully with getting back to cleaner eating and more water, those pounds will drop quickly.

I’ve been putting it off and enjoying my coffee, but it’s time to get showered and ready for the day. I’m too tired to have anything coherent to say anyway. 🙂

Weekly Weigh-in

I see a pattern emerging. I lose one week. I gain the next week. I’m not going to get my undies in a bunch over it. It’s how I am. As long as the overall trend is down, I am a happy camper.

My scale definitely needs to be replaced. It must be close to 20 years old, and while it still gives me a gauge on where I’m at, it is far from accurate. A new scale is on my wish list. How sad that I would love a new scale for Christmas! Haha!

Anyway, on to my weigh-in results so I can get back to work. It’s going to be a busy week!

Last week I gained 3 pounds. So if you look at my pattern, can you guess what happened this week? Yes, I lost! I lost those 3 pounds, plus 3 more! I am now down 31 pounds and am thrilled! I’m not sure I’ll meet my goal of losing 50 by the Tim McGraw concert Labor Day, but 40 (or maybe 45??) is a very reasonable goal. No matter what, I am moving in the right direction and that’s what matters most.

I am thrilled to be making progress!!

Weekly Weigh-in

I’ll start out with the frustrating part and get it over with. I gained 3 pounds this week! And honestly, I expected it after the weekend. Remember my post on Friday how I was proud of myself for resisting temptation all day long? I ended up caving at home that night. I didn’t eat as bad as I would have in the past, but still didn’t eat great. Then we had the BBQ Saturday. Again, I could have eaten a lot worse, but I enjoyed some margaritas and didn’t drink enough water.

Yesterday I struggled, but did well all day. Until we decided last minute to go out for supper. We ended up going to Famous Dave’s, and I actually ate decent and logged my calories. I got a grilled chicken sandwich, and instead of fries on the side, I tried their new grilled pineapple. It was delicious! My entire meal was only about 800 calories, which I think was great for a meal out. I ended up eating a couple of leftover lemon bars last night too. 😦

The good news: I will not let this get me down. I am feeling bloated, but otherwise good, so I am on track today and drinking lots of water. Those 3 pounds will be gone soon. Plus more…

For about 10 days, I did really well with accomplishing chores around the house with my daily goals. With our heat wave last week, those mini goals went out the window! It’s time to get back to that, and get my house shaped up before school starts and my job gets busy this fall.

My newest project revolves around an impromptu purchase Marcus and I made last night. It all started because our DVD player stopped working, so we bought a new Blu Ray player. Well, since our TV is about 10 years old, the hookups are all different. We’ve been wanting to upgrade to a flat screen, so bit the bullet last night. We are the proud new owners of a 55″ TV!! We’re excited, but now need to figure out where to put it. So last night we were discussing options and we have a plan. We want to make sure the TV is secure and kids stay safe, so we will be mounting it to the wall. But we need a place for the DVD player and wii, which will look ridiculous on our current tiny TV stand. So I’m looking for a larger TV console of sorts, and will order that once we find something we both like. We are rearranging the entire room, and think it will actually open the room up quite a bit. And this also means major cleaning! I won’t let anything move to its new position until that part of the room has been cleaned. I sort of wish I could paint while we’re at it, but we’re spending enough money so the painting will have to wait.

With the break in the heat, I’m looking forward to a more active week!

Weekly Weigh-in

We had another nice, long weekend. It started with my cousin’s wedding on Friday. Marcus had to work, so I took all 3 kids. They were really good, but I still get stressed out when I’m the only parent responsible for them. That’s definitely something I’m working on, but one thing at a time. 🙂 I’m grateful there was other family around, and I especially appreciate 2 of my uncles who offered to help get kids through the buffet line. Overall the kids did great. I just need to learn to relax and enjoy! We didn’t get home until after 10pm, which is WAY after their bedtime, but they all went to bed like little troopers.

The rest of the weekend was fairly uneventful. Marcus was around so I managed to get a couple of walks in.

Next Saturday we have an annual BBQ that we go to every year. It’s always a lot of fun, but I know that day will not be healthy. I’m going to work hard all week so I can enjoy without guilt. After that, we don’t have any big plans until our county fair mid-August, so I’ll have a couple of solid weeks with fewer temptations.

Today is my official weigh-in day. While the number wasn’t quite as low as I was hoping for, I am still very pleased with my progress. I lost 3 pounds! With a 2 pound gain last week, this was nice to see. I am officially in the next group of 10s and hope to never see the higher 10 again. I am now down 28 pounds and feeling great!

We ordered a new camera, so I’ll have to post some progress pics. I’m not sure I have any good ones to compare myself to my heaviest, so I’ll have to dig around for something there too. I have a feeling seeing the progress will be helpful.

I’m kind of glad work is busy right now. Being busy keeps me out of the office treats!

Weekly Weigh-in

After a nice, long weekend to celebrate the 4th of July, I am glad to be back to work!

It was a great weekend filled with face painting, a parade, card playing, pool time, a movie, and lots of family time. I also had basically too full days of making the wrong food choices. I was back on track yesterday, and going strong today. It feels good to be back on track!

What doesn’t feel so good is today’s weigh-in. I was up 2 pounds! Grr! I was hoping to lose something, but I know I deserve the gain.

Next week I will lose those 2, plus more. The only thing that could get in my way is a family wedding, but I won’t drink any alcohol since I’ll need to drive the kids home. And let’s be honest, most weddings don’t overfeed their guests, so I think my food will be okay.

I’m still feeling good even though I was up 2 pounds. I’m on the right track and am SO close to fitting into a bunch of clothes in my closet. That is motivation because I’m not buying more at the bigger size.

Thanks for reading!

Weekly Weigh-in

I need to keep this short because work is getting busier. And in the evenings I’m still working to get things done around the house, exercise, and spend time with the kids.

I have done really, really, really well this past week! My diet has been practically perfect. I’ve been exercising, and even hit 10,000 steps 2 days. I have been chugging the water. Honestly, I think it’s the water that has really helped with the weight loss. And it has all but stopped the evening snacking temptation.

Curious how much weight I lost this past week??

I did put a few on since my last official weigh-in June 1, so ended with a net loss of 4 pounds this month. I’LL TAKE IT!! I am now down 27 pounds, with 23 to go to hit my Labor Day goal of losing 50.

Since mini goals are working for me right now, I will go to weekly weigh-ins. I know I won’t lose every single week, but I am hopeful I will see another good week.

I feel the need to add some progress pics. Our camera is broken, so I can’t until we replace it. We hope to do it soon.

I’m looking forward to another fantastic week! Stay strong everyone!
