I try not to post more than once a day, but today I am putting together a plan of action and I wanted to share. Here are some little things that I am going to do.
~ Knee pushups. I have heard of people doing these religiously and after time, really start to see some shoulder definition. I have narrow shoulders that slope, so could use some improved shoulders. I’ll start with 25 or however many I can do at once, and work up from there. There is no reason I can’t take a minute or two every day for this.
~ Music. Listen to it more often! I have been cranking the Tim McGraw today to prepare for his concert in a couple of weeks. Music always lifts my spirits!
~ Have fun. I have been working on letting go and having more fun for quite some time. I am making progress, but feel the need to work at this more consciously right now. I have plans coming up with a friend I haven’t seen in a while. I thought about making an excuse to cancel, like I used to do a lot. But I will go. And I know I will have a good time.
~ Sleep. Get more of it! I have to be up early. If I’m not up by 5am, I’m rushed and get to work later than I’d like. Days I take the kids to daycare, I really should be up by 4:30. I feel better if I hit the sack by 9 or 9:30 pm.
Small changes really do add up. These are all things I can do, even as work gets busier and I have more OT. Everything is harder when things are really crankin’ at work and I’m working 60+ hour weeks, but this list should be entirely doable. And allow me to do a better job.
I think I’ll do my knee pushups right now and get them over with!
Great plans!! All healthy choices. Glad you will be taking care of YOU.
Thanks! I keep working on it!
Good ideas. I also am working on getting more sleep and having fun. I think that begins with knowing what I like to do and who I like to spend time with.
I agree. There is no sense doing things we don’t enjoy or spending time with people we don’t like. Life is too short!
I could not agree with you more. I have especially been focusing on your two points about fun and sleep myself. Great post!
Thanks! Such small changes can really make a big difference.
